A place committed to deepening our understanding of modern-day Islam and dismantling stereotypes and misconceptions. A place devoted to the study of the challenges facing the Muslim world, the promotion of healthy dialogue, and the production of objective research and analysis to form national and international policy. A place where tomorrow’s global leaders are forged with an understanding of the History, culture, language, philosophy and art of the Muslim world. With a generous multimillion dollar gift, Florida International University (FIU) has established the Mohsin & Fauzia Jaffer Center for Muslim World Studies.
FIU’s Mohsin & Fauzia Jaffer Center for Muslim World Studies will be an international center of excellence promoting a multidisciplinary understanding of Islam and its status around the world. It will reach thousands of students each year, preparing a new generation to face global change with a solid grounding in Muslim issues. The center will also serve as a clearing house for objective, scholarly discourse and a resource for the community.
