About the Project
As part of the WF-AID Winter Appeal, we are encouraging the community to get involved to fundraise for the Hadith-e-Kisa Blanket Drive, which will equip deserving families in South Asia and the Middle East with warm, insulated blankets. WF AID’s Blanket Drive provides warm clothes and blankets for those who cannot afford warmth and heating in severe cold weather. This year 721 orphan children in Najaf, Iraq received blankets and warm clothes to protect them against Iraq’s severe winters. The blankets will be distributed to families living in rural areas in India and northern Pakistan, along with those internally displaced widows and orphans in Syria and Iraq, who don’t have the protection of a blanket to keep them warm.
The Hadith-e-kisa blanket drive seeks inspiration from a narration of an event where the Prophet Muhammad (saw) gathered Ali, Hasan, Husayn and Fatima (peace be upon them all) under his cloak and announced them as his Ahl (family).
The minimum challenge is for each person to raise enough funds for at least ten blankets, which can support ten families, Alhamdulillah. If you can do more fundraising, or have bigger networks, then why not set yourself higher targets.
